Abstract
Bizarre Parosteal Osteochondromatous Proliferations(BPOP) are rare tumor-like conditions which affect tubular bones of the hand and feet. Although these benign lesions resemble osteochondromas and parosteal osteosarcomas, they have different characteristics radiologically and histologically. Roentgenographs typically showed heavily calcific masses attached to the underlying cortex, which had a broad stalk base, without periosteal reaction or change to the underlying bone. Histologically, BPOP showed a large amount of hypercellular cartilage maturation to trabecular bone, which frequently contained spindle cells in the intertrabecular spaces. BPOP has a recurrent behavior, however, it does not express unequivocal malignant behavior, such as metastases. We experienced a case of Bizarre Parosteal Osteochondromatous Proliferations(BPOP) of the Hand with a rapidly growing appearance. We report this case here with a review of the literature.
